About the course

The Introduction to Occupational Medicine course was created to present the fundamentals of this area of health focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of work-related diseases. It is ideal for those who wish to understand the role of the occupational physician and the importance of occupational health in companies. Throughout the course, the student will learn about the main concepts of occupational medicine, regulatory standards (NRs), accident prevention, evaluation of occupational risks, pre-employment and periodic medical exams, as well as health promotion in the corporate environment. At the end of the studies, the student must take a quiz with objective questions about the topics covered. This test serves as a review of the content and helps to consolidate knowledge in a practical and interactive way. After completing the course and taking the quiz, the student may choose to obtain a completion certificate for a symbolic fee, if desired. This certificate can be used to enhance the resume, demonstrate knowledge in the field, and even fulfill complementary hours in educational institutions. This is an open course, accessible to anyone, without the need for prior education. It is legally supported by the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDB), No. 9,394/1996, and by Presidential Decree No. 5,154, of July 23, 2004, authorizing the offering of open courses in Brazil.
